Online Marketing Strategies

Online marketing strategies work if you do them consistently. One of the main problems is that many newbies to internet marketing give up when they don’t get immediate results. There has to be trial and error or at best calculated risk involved.

A plan can be made, but there needs to be flexibility if the plan doesn’t work. Moving on to plan b is part of internet marketing. Not to mention the fact that what works today may not tomorrow. The internet changes rapidly and we have to change with it.

First and foremost you need good web design and development as well as an effective promotion plan. If you don’t have the skills yourself then you have to learn. Naturally, you can pay a web designer to do it for you, but then you don’t know what’s going on.

Secondly, you need to study search engine optimization or your site will be lost in the abyss of cyberspace. You need to be able to write good SEO content. Once again you can outsource this too, but it’s better to learn and know it for yourself.

To rank high for keywords and beat out competition requires much study and hard work. There is no other way to get on the first page of Google and be there consistently.

Building a list is right up there with the other two. When you have a list built half the work is done. Then you can focus on marketing to your loyal followers.

In the meantime while you’re building the list the fourth online marketing strategy is article marketing. Writing and more writing is needed for it to be successful. However, if you’re really good at pre-sell and an have excellent call to action in the resource box you don’t have to write as many articles. It takes time to get this down pat.

Online marketing strategies take much forethought and planning. A mentor helps a great deal without a mentor you can spin wheels for months or years!

My mentors have been Ed Dale of the Thirty Day Challenge, Travis Sago aka the king of Bum Marketing and Amy Bass of the Niche Blogger.

If you follow this blog you know that I am still with the Niche Blogger and have been for 9 months. So far, it’s the best mentoring program I’ve experienced and is why I stay.

Blogging for Money

When you’re blogging for money you need to take into consideration many different factors. If not you may end up with no money. You can’t just set up a blog and pray to make money you must have a plan from the get go.

One of the first things you need to think about is how you’re going to monetize the blog/site. Whether it’s a static site or blog this is an important first step. You see, BEFORE you set up a blog you need to sign up for adsense or affiliate programs so that ads will be ready to go when the blog goes live.

I would like to make mention that there’s controversy that surrounds the decision to have ads asap or wait until you have more traffic. I think it’s good to monetize from jump, except for adsense, you may need to wait on them so that you will get relevant ads.

Of course, if you’re planning on using Ebay you need to sign up with them asap, they may reject you so you want to be prepared to have a backup. Amazon and clickbank are good choices as they aren’t so dang picky.

There’s a catch 22 with this, however, because when you sign up they ask for an url from your site and you need to have one. I found that some don’t check the site, but that you just need to have an url. So, I made a quick blogger blog and they accepted that.

You also need to know where to place your ads if you don’t you can lose a lot of money. Blogging for money can be difficult if you don’t make right decisions in this area.

The layout is another concern, not only ads, but colors, clutter and of course content. Content is king, along with another biggie and that’s keywords. If you’re blogging for money keywords and keyword phrases can make you or break you.

Naturally, when I began I knew none of this stuff, none of us do. We have to learn it and it’s best to learn it from someone who has been there and done that.

I fumbled around and wasted a ton of time trying to figure it out on my own. I didn’t get anywhere, but I did try. Finally, I joined Wealthy Affiliate for 8 weeks and couldn’t make heads or tails of that. Then I moved on to the 30 Day Challenge and I did learn basics there, it’s free and a great place for newbies to start.

However, it has been the Niche Blogger that has made a huge difference in helping me to get a grasp on blogging for money. I also benefit greatly from the Warrior Forum.

To sum up, if you’re a complete newbie and want to make money online with blogs you can begin with the 30 Day Challenge which is free or join the Niche Blogger which has a free 3 day trial offer.

Ed Dale is the go to guy in the 30 DC and Amy Bass is the go to gal in the Niche Blogger, both are excellent mentors. Or you can do both since the 30 DC is free, why not? At the time of this post the Niche Blogger is under $25 a month.

Make Blogs- Start to Blog

Once you start to blog it will get easier to blog. At first if you’re not used to writing it may be difficult even if you know your topic and it’s something you’re passionate about. After all, when you hit the publish button it goes LIVE! And you may not feel comfortable with letting friends or family know that you have one so don’t worry this is normal. A little healthy fear kind of keeps you from making a fool of yourself.

To find tips on what others are writing you can go to different article directories to view articles. One of the best ones is Ezine Articles there you can search for most anything you want and either get new ideas or see what they’re writing on your chosen topic. Then when you start to blog it won’t be as scary.

However, you shouldn’t copy their article word for word, but get ideas and add your own flavor to it so that it’s original content. Keep in mind that if you start to blog for money posts will need to be keyword rich. Now, you may wonder what that means if you’re a complete newbie. It simply means that there are search words people use in google to find a product or an answer. These words are called keywords.

Even if you’re not trying to make money and just want traffic to your blog the use of keywords can help you do it. Therefore, before you start to blog you will need to do keyword research if you want more readers/traffic coming to your blog.

Blogging and writing go hand in hand and everybody knows that the more you do something the better. When you start to blog you should try to write everyday, maybe not a full post, but at least research or write a few paragraphs. In time you’ll start feeling more comfortable and see an improvement in your writing.

Then before you know it blogging and writing will be a breeze and all the fear you had in the beginning will disappear. Once you get that out of the way you can focus on learning how to make money from blogging if that’s your goal.

That’s what this blog is for to help others make money online. There has to be a system or plan and everyone who blogs for money needs to have a plan to do it effectively. That’s why I’m a member of the Niche Blogger so that I have a proven method to follow. The NB method works if you take action and implement.

If you’re interested in blogging to make some extra cash or as a career the Niche Blogger can show you how. To begin check out this free trial offer:

Marketing Blogs

As you know there are thousands of marketing blogs online. If you’re just beginning you have a lot of research ahead to find out what’s being used these days to market your product or yourself for that matter. You will be challenged and at times frustrated.

I’m going to briefly mention the most popular ways marketers market their marketing blogs. There’s a tongue twister for you, now say it 10 times.

Just kidding, but I did try and can’t do it! Anyway, here’s the top 10 methods marketers market marketing blogs:

* Quality content is vital to the success of your blog no matter what type of blog you market. Poorly written content will kill it.
* Social media, this includes, Twitter of course and all the other social sites like Digg, Facebook, Stumbleupon, Technorati, Del.icio.us and Yahoo Buzz.
* Articles, with Ezine Articles being in the lead and Goarticles coming in second.
* Videos are quite popular and getting more so each day. It’s visual, it’s quick, it works.
* Submit to main web and rss directories.
* Forums are great, especially for Niche blogs.
* Press Releases, Newsletters, Podcasts and Interviews

Of course, there’s more, but these are the best ones. Marketing blogs can be a full time job and consistency is one of the keys to their success. When you snooze you lose!

If there’s one thing you don’t want to do it’s get behind or take on too much. If you have too many blogs/sites to keep up it can hurt your business. You need to know your limitations and focus on the ones you have rather than set up more.

As you can see marketing blogs can get overwhelming if you let it. This can be a trap bloggers/marketers fall into so consider yourself warned.

The best thing to do so that you don’t get in over your head is have a mentor or coach. This will save you from making costly mistakes and save you tons of time.

In the beginning I had no one to show me the right way so I made a lot of poor choices. Finally, I came across Amy Bass who owns the Niche Blogger and now have guidance.

Don’t Give Up !!

You can make money online, so don’t give up. As long as you keep going you can and will do it. There will be a zillion disappointments, but that’s okay as long as you don’t give up. Trust me, I have had them and still do, but I don’t give up. Are you getting the idea as I keep repeating don’t give up! If you give up you will never do it.

I have been at this now for about a year. A few months back I got disillusioned and put affiliate marketing on hold to write for sites like eHow, Infobarrel and Xomba instead to see what money was to be made just writing online.

It has been an interesting journey and has paid off pretty well. You can make money writing online, but make no mistake you need to learn and know SEO to do it.

Doing this has helped me in many ways to make more money online. It has forced me to research niches and topics I was clueless about. It has improved my writing skills and taught me the invaluable lesson of not putting all my eggs in one basket.

If you’re going crazy and trying to make money online don’t give up, but instead diversify. However, you need to watch it that you are doing too many things at once.

Choose two or three avenues and research them to see if you have an interest. If you force yourself you will certainly give up. There needs to be heart felt motivation.

Making money online is not easy, but it is doable. If you can make $5 you can make $10 and then $20 and so forth. Just don’t give up. It also helps to seek help.

If you have been to this blog before then you know I’m a member of the Niche Blogger and have been for the past 10 months. That is a long time, but it’s a great place to learn how to make money online. A good online mentor is priceless.

Without a mentor you are at the mercy of the internet and scammers. Not to mention, time and money wasted on trial and error. If you’re a newbie online grab the free report to your right and learn more about niche blogging.

They think it won’t work or that they’re wasting their time. However, if you want to make money blogging you have to be willing to take a chance.

One of the first things you want to do is find affiliate programs that are relevant to your product. Don’t choose based on high commissions, but on the quality of the product. It’s also best to start out with merchants that are well known and trusted like Ebay and Amazon. Then in time you can branch out to other affiliate programs.

It’s important for your readers to trust you if you want to make money blogging. Put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself if you would trust this product.

Do the best you can be honest and sincere in all you say and do. There will be some trial and error and that’s okay even veteran marketers don’t hit the mark every time.

Make Blogs- Themes for Blog

Choosing themes for blog can be time consuming, however, it is necessary if you want your blog to fit into the topic you have in mind. In addition, you need to consider features, navigation and theme development.

Make sure you have a category picked out like health, travel, beach, personal, make money, environment, real estate, hi-tech, outdoors, school, and Christian. This is just a few examples to give you an idea of what’s available.

Take time to view blogs that are relevant to your topic this gives insight into blog templates you should consider. The themes for blog you choose can be very important and will make a difference on how well your blog is received by others.

One of the first features I look for is the column, I like three column themes. You can get one, two, three or four columns the two and three column themes are used more so there’s more variety in these.

The placement of sidebars in blog themes is another choice you need to make. One choice is two sidebars on the right this is the most popular. Then there’s one on the left and one on the right with content in the middle. Lastly, sidebars on the left.

Some other features you want to look for are widgets, is it widget ready? Then there’s search engine optimization, plugin compatibility, and graphics. As you can see looking at themes for blog will take thoughtful consideration.

Finally, if you’re lost and don’t know where to begin and need help you should consider a coach. It’s not as expensive as you think and they actually pay for themselves since they show you how to make money blogging.

Amy Bass is a blogging coach, housewife and mother of 4 who just paid off $72,000 in debt by blogging. She can show you how she did it and you can do it too.

Using Keywords

Using keywords is something all web writers do or should do. If you don’t know how then you need to learn how. At least get the basics down and go from there. The goal is to write content that satisfies both people and robots or search engines.

There has to be a balance and it isn’t easy. Using keywords in content is a must and readers are equally as important. While many think that content is just the words on the page there are other factors such as titles, headers, tags and in and out going links.

Titles are very important the keywords need to be in the title. Also, in the first paragraph and preferably the first sentence. Other keywords relevant to the topic need to be in the body of the article as well. It’s called LSI or latent semantic indexing.

Additionally, use keywords in the ending paragraph and keep it short. Don’t dilute your SEO content use LSI words and phrases instead.

Use only one topic per page don’t confuse the bots. People may get it, but bots are not human, they’re machines. If you have google ads then you really need to stay on topic.

Using different topics on one page also affects ranking for your keywords. When using keywords stay focused and don’t go off on a tangent. Read it out loud if need be.

Writing for search engines and people at the same time can be tricky and challenging. It is also time consuming, since there’s so much research involved. It’s not writing the article that’s hard it’s finding the keywords. Once you have them you’re off and running.

It takes time to learn how to write well SEO’d content. Write and write some more! Practice along with testing is what will get you where you want to be.

A mentor helps as well as other marketers or web writers to give you feedback. Get constructive criticism, especially from those who have been there and done that.

Find a membership site with a forum of people who are willing to help. If you want to make money blogging the Niche Blogger mentoring site is a great place to start.

Get Paid to Blog

Do you want to get paid to blog? If you’re a blogger the answer is most likely YES! If you want to get paid to blog there are several ways to go about it.

The first way you can get paid to blog is to work for a company that pays you to write for them. You update and maintain it and keep good content flowing that will hopefully bring them business. They in turn pay you per post or by the hour depending on the arrangement. It’s a good idea to be familiar with them and their business.

Another way to get paid to blog is to maintain your own blog and accept assignments from companies who pay you a fee to blog about their product or service.

Both of these options are good to get you a little spending money and help promote your writing. No matter what or who you write for you should do your best you never know who will read it. You might attract more customers if you do your best.

My favorite way to get paid to blog is to build my own blogging empire. You can do this while you do the other blogging jobs then when you make it big and are raking in the dough you can opt out of the others and pursue this full time.

There are people getting on the internet everyday to look up information and to purchase products. Why not have your blog ready and waiting for them to land on IT!

Yes, it’s competitive, but if you know what to do and how to do it you can beat out your competition. If you don’t know what to do then you need a mentor or coach this will save you from losing your mind trying to figure it out.

If you’ve been following this blog you know that I belong to the Niche Blogger and that I believe it’s, hands down, the best membership site on the internet to discover how to maximize profit from blogging. It also has the best method.

The good news is that to experience what the Niche Blogger is about you can opt for a FREE 3 day offer just CLICK HERE to check it out.
