Blogging for Money
When you’re blogging for money you need to take into consideration many different factors. If not you may end up with no money. You can’t just set up a blog and pray to make money you must have a plan from the get go.
One of the first things you need to think about is how you’re going to monetize the blog/site. Whether it’s a static site or blog this is an important first step. You see, BEFORE you set up a blog you need to sign up for adsense or affiliate programs so that ads will be ready to go when the blog goes live.
I would like to make mention that there’s controversy that surrounds the decision to have ads asap or wait until you have more traffic. I think it’s good to monetize from jump, except for adsense, you may need to wait on them so that you will get relevant ads.
Of course, if you’re planning on using Ebay you need to sign up with them asap, they may reject you so you want to be prepared to have a backup. Amazon and clickbank are good choices as they aren’t so dang picky.
There’s a catch 22 with this, however, because when you sign up they ask for an url from your site and you need to have one. I found that some don’t check the site, but that you just need to have an url. So, I made a quick blogger blog and they accepted that.
You also need to know where to place your ads if you don’t you can lose a lot of money. Blogging for money can be difficult if you don’t make right decisions in this area.
The layout is another concern, not only ads, but colors, clutter and of course content. Content is king, along with another biggie and that’s keywords. If you’re blogging for money keywords and keyword phrases can make you or break you.
Naturally, when I began I knew none of this stuff, none of us do. We have to learn it and it’s best to learn it from someone who has been there and done that.
I fumbled around and wasted a ton of time trying to figure it out on my own. I didn’t get anywhere, but I did try. Finally, I joined Wealthy Affiliate for 8 weeks and couldn’t make heads or tails of that. Then I moved on to the 30 Day Challenge and I did learn basics there, it’s free and a great place for newbies to start.
However, it has been the Niche Blogger that has made a huge difference in helping me to get a grasp on blogging for money. I also benefit greatly from the Warrior Forum.
To sum up, if you’re a complete newbie and want to make money online with blogs you can begin with the 30 Day Challenge which is free or join the Niche Blogger which has a free 3 day trial offer.
Ed Dale is the go to guy in the 30 DC and Amy Bass is the go to gal in the Niche Blogger, both are excellent mentors. Or you can do both since the 30 DC is free, why not? At the time of this post the Niche Blogger is under $25 a month.
